In memory of Leonard E. Phillips Jr.,
Founder of Online Seminars for Municipal Arborists January 14, 1943 - June 29, 2024 (age 81) We have recently lost our good friend, author and editor Len Phillips. Len passed away suddenly on June 29th, 2024, working in his garden. His time on this earth was dedicated to his family first and the world of arboriculture second. He served as an inspiration to anyone interested in the science and care of trees. His thirst for knowledge and generosity in sharing his knowledge was a model for all good horticulturists. He understood the importance and was dedicated to lifelong education that continues to open doors and never reaches an end. Len will be greatly missed by us and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. https://www.odonnellfuneralservice.com/obituary/Leonard-PhillipsJr ************************************ Welcome to Online Seminars for Municipal Arborists. While the original purpose of Online Seminars was to duplicate attending a conference without the hassle and expense of travel and time away from your home and office, this half of GibneyCE.com has evolved to become a major resource for municipal arborists and urban foresters. The purpose this contribution to the website is to provide up-to-date information on urban forestry subjects and allow you to earn continuing education credits (CEUs) from your professional society. Feel free to read any or all the articles you wish, anytime 24-7 at no cost. However, if you wish to take a test at the end of each article to earn CEUs, there will be a modest payment required.
At the top of the right-hand column, you will see most current featured articles. The PAST SEMINARS are the articles from the most recent years of our published Seminars. The TOPICS are a reference source and a permanent feature of the Seminars. The TOPICS are reviewed by the author at least once a year and updated as necessary to keep the article current, based on the latest research. These articles may also be used to earn CEU's. If you need a bid specification for professional, up-to-date services, click on SPECIFICATIONS under the RESOURCES list. After reading the articles, I would encourage you to join our LinkedIn Urban Forestry Discussion Group. We discuss current issues, pest and disease problems, and whatever is on your mind. If this is your first visit to our website, you can become a member by sending an email to Richard Gibney at richard@gibneyce.com with "Member Request" in the subject box. Please specify whether you are an Arborist and/or Landscape Architect. When we receive your request, we will add you onto our email list and occasionally send you a short email reminder to visit the website and notify you that a new Seminar has been released. No one has access to our members list. My email is lenphillips@yahoo.com. Send me a message anytime you have questions or comments about Online Seminars.
